So I haven't made much progress in the adoption department. Classes have been over for 1 1/2 weeks and I still haven't accomplished much. First of all, Joey's birth certificate is messed up so we are trying to get that fixed. I have sent in a few preliminary applications but we haven't qualified for hardly anything because of my depression/anxiety. Also, they want letters from the doctors and their opinion if I am capable of being a mother (and just so you know, I've been waiting on the letters for 3 weeks now!) So.......I have to get my whole life history scrutinized by people I don't know and who don't know me and wait for them to decide if they think I am capable of being a parent.

Yeah, I guess you could say I don't like the idea of it but, I guess it is in the best interest of the child. So for that sake I just pray that everything will work out! I feel that the Lord has led us to adopt and He will find a way for it to happen. I just need to keep the faith!

For those of you who don't know, my father passed away when I was almost 11, my sister passed away about a week after my 16th birthday, my two friends Jimmy and Charlie got killed about 4 months later and I found out that I probably wouldn't be able to have kids....all at age 16. So there's a brief history for ya! No, I'm not asking for sympathy....just to let you know possibly where my depression and anxiety comes from.

Well, now that I've 'vented' about all that...I mailed in an application today to Adoption Assistance (YAY!). I'm hoping that they live up the their name because, we are in great need of some "assistance" with this adoption process. I've been researching for a month on what country to choose but, it seems like either we don't meet the requirements or the agency is not taking applications. I guess we will just wait to see which country the Lord chooses for us and go from there. So maybe we will hear something in a few days. I wanted to get the process started before next year and before my classes start back. So wish us luck and REMEMBER US IN YOUR PRAYERS! God bless!!!

Beth -
Did you try India? If not, call Journeys of the Heart - ask for Heather - they are a great organization, but I'm not sure of their requirements.
Prayers with you-
Renae
